13 Days of January | Day 8: Artwork

Salut les filles! Aujourd'hui on se retrouve pour un nouveau nail art du challenge "13 Days of January"! =)

Hello dear readers! Ready for another "13 Days of January" nail art? =)

Le thème du jour était "Artwork". Aidée de notre ami Google Images, je suis partie à la recherche d'une peinture à reproduire, plutôt dans le style abstrait pour ne pas à avoir à faire un truc trop détaillé... genre La Joconde, lol! XD Puis je me suis rappelée de mes cours de dessin au collège, et en particulier ceux sur le pointillisme. Et hop, nouveau mot clé de mes recherches! En faisant défiler les images, je suis tombée sur cette création d'une artiste canadienne nommée Angela Vandenbogaard.

The prompt for today is Artwork. With the help of our friend Google Images, I was seeking for some artworks to "copy". I wanted something abstract, with not too many details. After many searches and many keywords, I found this pretty artwork by the Canadian artist Angela Vandenbogaard.

J'ai donc fait une nouvelle recherche Google Images pour voir un peu plus de ses œuvres. Vous pouvez voir le résultat ICI. Pour ma part, je suis tombée sous le charme de ces jolis arbres ♥ N'hésitez pas à visiter son site internet, sa boutique Etsy ou encore son blog!

Je me suis donc inspirée des œuvres de Angela Vandenbogaard pour ce nail art. J'ai commencé par poser 2 couches de OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, puis j'ai dessiné des branches avec OPI Get In The Expresso Lane. Avec mes petits ongles, je savais que je ne pourrais pas représenter les arbres en entier donc je me suis concentrée sur la partie intéressante. ^^

So inspired by all these cute trees painted by Angela Vandenbogaard, I came up with this nail art. I first applied 2 coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, then I drew some branches with OPI Get In The Expresso Lane. I knew I couldn't draw the whole trees on my short nails, so I focused on the more interesting part. ^^

Ensuite, sur chaque ongle, j'ai fait des pois de différentes tailles avec mes dotting tools.

Next step: the "leaves"! I grabbed my dotting tools and made dots in various sizes, using different shades of the same color.

Majeur / Middle finger: Elevation Polish Mount Mckinley (barely visible on the photos), Elevation Polish Tavan Bogd, Kiko 332 Dark Violet & Elevation Polish Antelao.

Annulaire / Ring finger: Elevation Polish Alphubel, Kiko 339 Cornflower, Elevation Polish El Cap II & Elevation Polish Pic de Sotllo.

Auriculaire / Pinky: Elevation Polish I Got the Axe, Elevation Polish Cuernos del Paine, Kiko 297 Acid Green & Elevation Polish Alpine Heights (Carlit).

Je vous mets une petite macro pour vous montrer où se trouvent les pois faits avec Mount Mckinley même si on ne les voit toujours pas très bien lol! Pourtant en vrai, je les vois sans problème... 

Here is a macro shot to help you find the dots made with Mount Mckinley, even if they're still hiding, lol! Weird cause I can see them very well IRL...
